A DSC substitutes a hand-written signature which is necesary for companies and Limited Liability Partnership (LLPs), and for other taxpayers to sign and file returns in the GST Common Portal. For this purpose either a Class 2 or a Class 3 digital signature certificate is required, that comes with 1 year, 2 years and 3-year validity.
For MCA (ROC)
For transactions concerning the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, company or organization should have Digital Signature Certificate (DSC). DSC of Class 2 and Class 3 category is required in the process of eFiling on the MCA portal. Digital Signature Certificate of Class 2 or Class 3 , is required .
EPFO has introduced a new system to support online submission of transfer claims by Members to make the transfer process clear, efficient and comfortable. The employee has an option to submit his claim either through his existing employer or the previous one. Export and Import Organizations (EXIM organizations) can apply for licenses online . If any organisation is filing documents via Custom House Agents, it must be with DSC . A Digital Signature Certificate Class 3 is necessary .
For Trade Mark
To e-file Trademarks and Patent in India, the Controller General of Patents, Design and Trademarks (CGPDTM) it should be with class 3 DSC either with one year or two year or three year validity

For Director KYC
in the E-Procurement processes i.e buyer to supplier and vice-versa DSC is a mandate for all e-Procurement processes. Any company that is attending to apply for any Government eTender requires to hold a Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate registered under the name of a representative who is authorized to participate in the offers for e-Tendering.
DSC for Income Tax
With the DSC you can file your Returns easier and more secure. As per provisions under section 44AB of Income Tax Act “E-Filing is compulsory for all the individuals/professionals having a yearly gross receipt of INR 25 Lakhs and above, and for business firm with an annual turnover of INR 1 Crore and above.

CEGATE (Indian Customs EDI gateway) is the gateway for the Indian Customs EDI system users. All the individuals (Exporters/Importers/CHAs//Shipping Agents etc.), trade partners (Banks, FSSAI/Custodians etc). It gives Remote EDI Services (RES) to the industry and trade for data exchange, filing documents, e-payment, document tracking, status inquiry, query-reply etc.
Foreign Nationals Dsc
Citizens of another country and/ or their organization, as well as Indian national overseas, can apply for a digital signature online in order to safely transact in the country.
